USC gets a verbal commit from a 13 year old – HuffPo gloats about Obama’s second term
Seventh grade quarterback David Sills has verbally committed to USC in what NY Daily News is calling a “publicity stunt.” The story has generated a lot of controversy, perhaps because of USC’s new coach Lane Kiffin, yet as NY Daily News and Ryan Winn point out, this isn’t as rare as it is being made out to be.
David Sills is being touted by his mentor Steve Clarkson, a renowned quarterbacks coach who has coached two time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger, former USC great Matt Leinart, and current USC QB Matt Barkley. His YouTube channel, QBDreamMaker, features him mentoring Joe Montana’s two sons, Ohio QB Terrell Pryor, and former Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen.
