Claims for unemployment insurance is rising…again

The number of people wanting unemployment benefits “unexpectedly rose last week” according to Wall Street Journal* and Reuters.

According to Reuters, this is the third week in a row that claims have risen. Although, Reuters is claiming there are some signs that recovery is occurring, apparently just  not in the job market.

Note that according to WSJ, the Labor Department is blaming it on “administrative backlog in processing claims.” (I see this as progress as they are, for the moment, not blaming Bush.)
